What you DON'T know about animal testing.

Article 13 of the Treaty on the functioning of the European Union states "the Union and the Member States shall, since animals are sentient beings, pay full regard to the welfare requirements of animals". The official acknowledgement, referred to therein, carries over the moral obligation to respect the fundamental rights of animals: the protection of those rights must be recognized as a European Union priority and must be guaranteed through the medium of a coherent legal framework at European level. Imposing pain and suffering to sentient and defenceless beings, animal experimentation - or vivisection - is, without a shadow of a doubt, to be considered as an intolerable practice.

I want to be clear , since there were a lot of questions and even criticisms about it ,  the purpose of this petition is to abolish these practices to animals, because science nowadays has quietly developed alternative methods, where it is not necessary to use animal  living for experimentation and are also more effective in the results and less expensive. Each species differs from the others by the physical structure and biochemistry and therefore there is a species that can be considered "an experimental model ".We ask Europe to promote these methods and for the future of science and to the respect of animals each year are used as guinea pigs.
 associations have developed this campaign against animal testing,they  did not want to create disinformation.
The term vivisection and experimentation are two terms literally so different, but both treat of experimental practices;
 The first is carried out with the dissection of bodies, tests performed on laboratory animals to induce alterations in anatomic or functional level, such as exposure to radiation, the injection of chemicals, gas, etc.., the second is to study with products and chemical agents (without dissection)

Cosa è STOP VIVISECTION

L'articolo 13 del Trattato sul Funzionamento dell'Unione europea stabilisce che "l'Unione e gli Stati membri tengono pienamente conto delle esigenze e del benessere degli animali in quanto esseri senzienti".
Questo riconoscimento ufficiale porta in sé l'obbligo morale di rispettare i diritti fondamentali degli animali, che devono pertanto essere riconosciuti come una priorità dall'Unione europea e dai suoi Stati membri, e tutelati attraverso un coerente quadro legislativo comunitario. Da questo punto di vista, la sperimentazione animale (o vivisezione) è senza alcun dubbio una pratica inaccettabile, in quanto impone illimitato dolore e sofferenza a esseri senzienti e senza difesa.
Alle ragioni dell'etica (condivise, nel sondaggio della Commissione Ue del 2006, dall'86% dei cittadini europei), si aggiunge l'appello sempre più stringente del mondo della scienza che afferma che il "modello animale", non predittivo per l'uomo, è privo di valore scientifico; infatti non esiste prova statistica che ne dimostri l'efficienza e l'affidabilità.

Vorrei chiarire , siccome ci sono state parecchie domande e anche critiche a riguardo ,che lo scopo di questa petizione è di abolire queste pratiche sugli animali in quanto la scienza al giorno d'oggi ha tranquillamente sviluppato  metodi alternativi, dove non è necessario usare esseri viventi per la sperimentazione e che sono anche più efficaci nei risultati e meno costosi. Ogni specie si differenzia dalle altre per struttura fisica e biochimica e quindi non esiste una specie che possa essere considerata "un modello sperimentale" .Chiediamo all'Europa di investire in questi metodi sia per il futuro della scienza che per il rispetto degli animali che ogni anno vengono impiegati come cavie.
Inoltre le associazioni che hanno sviluppato questa campagna contro la sperimentazione animale, non hanno voluto creare disinformazione.
Il termine vivisezione e sperimentazione sono sì due termini letteralmente diversi, ma trattano entrambi di pratiche di sperimentazione;
la prima si effettua con la dissezione di organismi , sperimentazione effettuata su animali di laboratorio che induca alterazioni a livello anatomico o funzionale, come l'esposizione a radiazioni, l'inoculazione di sostanze chimiche, di gas, ecc., la seconda consiste nello studio di  prodotti di agenti chimici (senza dissezione )
